Picks from Amazon’s “The Fix”

On July 25th, Amazon launched its new private accessory line called “The Fix.” Excited? So was I, and The Fix did not disappoint. The collection is stuffed with statement shoes and trendy handbags, all at pretty affordable prices! Of course, it’s one thing for the products to look nice. It’s another for them to actually be nice. So, like any fashion enthusiast with fingers a bit too eager to click the “Checkout” button, I ordered a pair of Fix shoes. (FYI, the collection is only available to Amazon Prime members, so if you don’t have Prime, maybe you have a Prime-member friend who would …

Ella Goes to Japan

Hello! Remember me? I was Lani’s and Kyle’s intern last summer. I just graduated from Kenyon College (Mr. Real Life Style’s alma mater) and am now working for RLS full-time! Two weeks before starting again at RLS, I took the journey of a lifetime. My boyfriend, Kei, lived in Japan for part of his childhood, as his mother is Japanese. Since the country is such a big part of who he is, I was ecstatic to travel there with Kei as my guide! For a week and a half, Kei showed me all around Yokohama, Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hiroshima. When …

When the Clock Strikes Twelve

Once upon a time, on a far-away runway… …the great fashion kings, Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana, revealed their Fall/Winter 2016-17 collection to the world! And if you couldn’t guess the collection’s theme already, it’s fairytales! This stunning collection (which can be seen in full on Dolce & Gabbana’s website) had me gasping with every click. . Elle . A Snow White-inspired dress covered in (probably poisoned) apples? A houndstooth skirt decorated with appliqué clocks reading five minutes to midnight? A bedazzled illustration of The Frog Prince? This collection excites both my inner fashionista and my inner child (speaking of which, …

Fresh-Squeezed Fashion

“I like to peel it and share it with friends. You can spread the love with an orange.” – Gina Rodriguez I love orange, but many people avoid adding such a bold color to their wardrobe – probably for fear of looking like a) a jack-o-lantern, b) a traffic cone, or c) an Orange is the New Black cast member (although those women are all pretty stunning, so that wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world). BUT orange is also the color of sunsets, koi, mimosas, and Creamsicles (four of my favorite things). When I spotted articles in Vogue and Collezioni highlighting the rise …
