Oh how I love our “This or That” posts! So this is how I happened to own both of the foundations above… I was in the market for a new foundation so I got a sample of the Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation at Neiman Marcus when my friend RosaLovesDC held a beauty event at the store.. Treatment, an amazingly high SPF, a soothing lavender scent, and an exact skin match? Sold.
However, before I could get back to the store to buy the full size bottle of Bobbi Brown foundation, I ran out of the foundation I had been using. Have I mentioned there is a CVS across the street from my apartment? Desperate times call for desperate measures. I had read (in a random online article) that the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation mimicked the yellow undertone for which the Bobbi Brown foundations are famous. I figured it was worth the $6 investment to give it a try. And no, living without foundation for a week was not going to happen. I use it to even out my skin tone with all of the concealer I need under my eyes.
The verdict? The Maybelline Fit Me foundation has a semi-respectable SPF, a bit creamier coverage than the Bobbi Brown foundation, and is a perfect color match for my skin tone. Perfect for the weekend with the kids. Just like I don’t wear my nicest clothes on kid days, I also don’t need to be using $62 foundation either.
