Once in a while we just need to tie up loose ends and do a brain dump on you, our lovely readers, of our latest favorite things. The week before Xmas, when no one has time to seriously contemplate an involved blog, seemed like the right time!

I feel like (as mentioned in the podcast highlighted last week), Kyle and I are always referring to our favorite $15 Uniqlo top. While our previous favorite drape tee is currently off the Uniqlo website, this fall I have been stocking my own and a few clients’ closets with our new favorite $15 Uniqlo top, the Uniqlo Heattech Fleece Turtleneck Long-Sleeve T-shirt. I have it in wine, grey, black, and navy. This top is pretty much all I am packing for Christmas in the cold. How obsessed are people with this fleece turtleneck? XS is totally sold out online, so when Kyle and I were shopping in New York last week I bought 4 for a DC client (and put them in my suitcase) who had made the mistake of just ordering 1 online while they were still in stock.

When I lost (I know, who loses the glasses they need to see?) my oft-complimented and very expensive burgundy Prada glasses last year, I never figured that my panic purchase (I couldn’t see!) of a pair of Warby Parker glasses would be such a success. Not only do I get a million compliments on my new Chelsea frames, they are purple (enough said), and I can actually see out of them better than my previous pair. This story would be even better if my Warby Parker glasses only cost the standard $95 so I could easily justify a spare pair, but with my 4 prescriptions in the lenses, they actually cost $295. Still, that is about a third of the Prada glasses due to the cost of my insane lenses from a traditional optical store. I’m not sorry I purchased my original glasses, but within a day of wearing my new Warby Parker glasses, I didn’t miss them at all.

It really kills me every time we get new press that we want to frame, and it costs $400 to do so. I recently gave in to the advertising from online company, Framebridge, with fabulous results. Never mind the lesser cost, you get instant gratification with perhaps a 15 minute time investment. No more waiting in line to make hard decisions at the framer, then having to go back and pick it up in 3 weeks. So far I’ve framed a fabulous pic our clients took of their matching sparkly shoes, a stunning picture my friend and RLS vendor Anu took in India, and my grandmother’s garden plan from 1975 that my mother gifted me. I’ve been thrilled with each project.

Dry, chapped lips be gone. I love Glossier’s lip balm all year, but especially in the winter when my skin and lips get especially dry. I have the cherry version, which leaves a nice pinky-red tint, and the birthday version, which has a subtle sparkle and amazing scent.

Lani calls these my Wonder Woman boots, which makes sense because I always feel powerful when I wear them. I love that the heel is low enough for me to wear them running around the mall at work or walking around DC at night. They’re on sale right now, so grab them while you can! (If you buy them, they may rub on your ankles the first time you wear them. Don’t let that discourage you because they really break in after only 1-2 wears!)
