Fashion moves so fast these days it is hard to buy a backup of any of your favorite clothing or accessories before the season is over and the designer pulls it from the store. Thankfully certain brands, such as M.M. Lafleur, ATM and Rag & Bone, repeat some of our favorite client picks season after season, but most do not.
I recently did a Google search for “Nike Siren Snakeskin Sneakers,” and hit the jackpot on Poshmark for my favorite but quickly disintegrating sneakers. A client and I were lamenting the passing of the Alberta Ferretti di Philosophy store we used to frequent in Soho, of which I found a treasure trove on Thredup. Are you, like many women out there, trying to scoop up as many pieces of Celine by Phoebe Philo as you can, now that Hedi Slimane has taken the brand in a whole new direction? Then The Real Real is for you.
No longer do you have to regret not catching something in store, because somehow not only are your favorite sneakers out there in your size, but you may even score them in a few new and fabulous colorways too!
Happy Shopping!
Poshmark
Poshmark allows you to list items from your closet to create a small boutique of your lightly used clothing. You can search particular items by brand, size, and description, which is how I scored my beloved snakeskin Nike’s. Find someone’s boutique who happens to have the same size and taste as you and go to town!

Ebay
Ebay has always been a go-to for finding discontinued styles. Kyle once lost her favorite Madewell blazer but found it again years later on Ebay in her size. It was a fashion miracle. Don’t take this resource for granted just because it has been around for a long time!
J.Crew Corduroy Campbell Blazer, $58
