Kyle Models Our Fave Israeli Designer!

This is what you need to know about Adi Yair’s clothes. The one piece I purchased from her when I met her in Israel on an Israel Fashion Tour with JWRP almost 2 years ago, is a long black vest that I knew would change my life (okay my wardrobe but same thing!). Adi actually had to make me one in the few days before I left in the country because the size I wanted had been grabbed by my fellow traveler, Rachelle Yadegar, a fashion blogger and designer with 25,000 Instagram followers. She also knew a perfect piece of clothing when she saw it.

Since then, I have sold the vest off my body to multiple clients. I email Adi, she sends me one in the size I need. She even created a size for one client! It has been that easy. Even last Friday night, I was chatting after services at my synagogue and someone I had met while wearing the vest over a year ago, mentioned again how she couldn’t stop thinking about it. I will be ordering her one soon!

Adi’s clothes are so easy to wear, yet you can’t stop thinking about them. Simple, easy and interesting is a fashion trifecta that Adi has nailed. This is why Kyle and I were over the moon when we found out that Adi would now be carried at the Flying Solo showroom in New York and that she would be in town for a few weeks. Adi gave us a personal showing of her collection as the pieces came out of boxes shipped from Jerusalem. As usual, I forced Kyle into model duty. And as you can see below, she did a stellar job.

You can get all the below pieces at Flying Solo, or special order it from Israel. It will take two weeks to make and shipping will be $30-40.

A fashion designer based in Jerusalem, Adi Yair has a degree in Fashion and Jewelry from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. She weaves her fabrics by hand on a traditional loom that she uses in a nonstandard way to produce unfamiliar and unique materials. She has developed tools and techniques to create woven textures and printing interpretations that speak her own language. The woven textile becomes one unit with the existing fabric and is sewn by a private tailor. Her work demonstrates a traditional technique and a contemporary style that combined, produce a balanced aesthetic of simplicity and sophistication. Adi explores the tension between art and fashion while maintaining the guiding values of balance, convenience and glamour. Her target customer is women who love to dress up, appreciate quality and comfort, and are proud to be different.
