It’s the start of a new season. Time to put away those sweaters and get ready for t-shirt weather! If your tees from last season are looking worn, think about freshening up your drawers with a new batch. These are the 6 brands of t-shirts we’ve been buying ourselves and our clients the last few seasons. Our criteria for a good tee? A flattering shape that withstands normal and super-mom wear and tear.
Happy Shopping!

The Everyday Basic Tee: Everlane
I wear one of my six Everlane t-shirts most days of the week. The shapes are simple, the colors are beautiful, and the material holds up in the washer AND dryer. Yep, I’ve had these t-shirts for over a year and there are no holes after wearing, washing, and drying dozens of times. Even if there were holes, I wouldn’t be mad at my $18 well spent. My previous go-to tees, J.Crew vintage cotton v-necks, are still near and dear to my heart, but they did not stand the test of time.

The Casual Weekend Tee: Madewell
I’d heard so many good things about the Madewell Whisper Cotton tees, but hadn’t tried them yet. Lani did the work for me this week by trying the t-shirt on a client looking for mommy weekend wear. The verdict? It was the perfect tee for her client, who was relieved they weren’t too sheer.

Your Favorite Color Tee: Halogen
This t-shirt is another great everyday option. It’s less structured and more flowy than the Everlane tees, which is perfect for when you want to dress your t-shirt up. But what I love most? The 20-something color options this t-shirt comes in.

The Elevated Blouse-Like Tee: Uniqlo
Lani wrote a blog post about these t-shirts last summer, and I immediately questioned why she didn’t get me any. Luckily, Uniqlo brought the drape t-shirt back this season in a few more colors and I picked some up for myself at the new Tysons location. The shape is extremely flattering and looks amazing with jeans, trousers, or a skirt. I bought ivory and black, but I’m hooked! I want more! P.S. Lani’s still look brand new after washing on cold and hanging them dry for a year.

The Softest Tee: Kit and Ace
While doing research for this blog, I discovered our holy grail Dana tee is marked down on final sale! Not only is this t-shirt made out of Kit and Ace’s high-quality, machine-washable Technical Cashmere, but it’s also the absolute best at flattering a larger bust. The Straight Up V Tee is their basic cut and is another great “dressed-up” tee.

The “Worth Every Penny” Tee: Majestic Paris
This is one of the only t-shirts we think is worth over $100 (Akris and Armani are in this category too). These are the t-shirts you can dress down with jeans or dress up under a suit. They’re as soft as silk and totally addicting. Once you try it on, you’ll ask for one in every color! We are constantly selling the tanks, tees, and even the soft knit jackets from the Neiman Marcus in Chevy Chase, where they carry a large stock of every style.
