I’d been on the hunt for a new winter coat for a while before I learned about the British brand Superdry. As warm as my lightweight down coat from The North Face is, it is also a size too big and my puppy poked several holes in it with her tiny teeth while she was going through her teething phase last winter. (What can you do?)
Winter coats don’t come cheap, so I was struggling to find a quality coat that was both my style and in my budget. I was about to give up when my boyfriend (who was also looking for a new coat) pulled me into the Superdry store at Tysons Corner Center. Before I knew it, I had found the perfect coat:
Superdry Brooklyn Duffle Coat, $159.50
One of my biggest shopping struggles is the fact that clothes always seem too big for me, either in length or width (often both). So what struck me first about the Brooklyn Duffle Coat was that it fit like a dream. Like many British brands, Superdry products have a slimmer cut (so don’t be surprised if you have to size up!). I then fell in love with the warm, furry hood and cute toggle closures.

Superdry describes itself as “an exciting contemporary brand which focuses on high-quality products that fuse vintage Americana and Japanese-inspired graphics with a British style” and “characterised by quality fabrics, authentic vintage washes, unique detailing, world leading hand-drawn graphics and tailored fits with diverse styling.” Pretty cool, right? It’s the perfect blend of quality clothing and affordable pricing. There are only ten Superdry stores in the U.S., but you can order online and get free shipping! Hard to argue with that, isn’t it?
