Warm, stylish coats for outdoor gatherings are just as important as last week’s blog topic: Warm Layers for Outdoor Gatherings. Choose from vests, puffers, fleece, teddy coats, and even faux fur. I’ll be keeping warm in Uniqlo HeatTech base layers and the coat collection that fills almost our entire front hall closet :).
Yes, we are putting vests in our warm, stylish coats for outdoor gatherings blog. A lot of people prefer a vest to a coat because of the range of movement it allows. This is especially useful if you are chasing kids around or tending to a fire. Some designers have begun to show cropped vests as a fashion statement for the youngsters. I still prefer a longer vest for the warmth and flattering silhouette.
Puffer and Down Coats
Puffer Coats come in so many styles now! They can be long, short, pullover, zip-up, down, synthetic, and even leather. Doesn’t the Tory Sport Wine and Red Packable Performance Satin Down Jacket look soooo cozy?! And if you are not into real down, check out Save the Duck coats.
Fleece and Teddy Coats
Fleece and teddy coats are the newest, most exciting category of warm, stylish coats for outdoor gatherings! I am not normally a fleece jacket kind of girl, but I am OBSESSED with the Eddie Bauer x Karla Fleece 1/2 Zip! And you can not beat the price on the Uniqlo Pile-Lined Fleece Tailored Coat. (Post publication note: the Eddie Baur x Karla collection is almost sold out. Apparently we have good taste!)
Faux Fur Coats
Faux fur coats used to be looked upon as just that, faux fur. However, they are now their own fashionable coat category, just like teddy bear coats. My advice is to choose one in a color or pattern that will bring you joy each time you wear it, rather than shooting for something that will work with everything.
