Yes, the gift ideas for kids portion is my favorite of all the gift guides! Mostly because I get to pick out all the cute, feminine things. Thankfully I have nieces and cousins to buy for every year. One of my kids actually told me to make his family present list for him! I was like, “Can I send you a bill? This is keeping me from my real work.” O.K., I didn’t actually say that, but maybe I should have!
Hopefully you’ll find this blog helpful for fill-in items your kids didn’t already put on their lists. We have options from books, to clothes, to toys. May they keep your kids busy all winter long!
My favorite bookworm with his 10th birthday present, the Harry Potter Books Set #1-7 in a Collectible Trunk-Like Toy Chest Box, $173.
Gifts for the Bookworm
I stumbled upon this Little People, Big Dreams book collection that has over 100 book editions. One could easily customize an assortment according to a child’s interests. Of course the Chanel, Vivienne Westwood and Iris Apfel editions hold a special place in my stylist heart! But if your kids are too old for Little People, Big Dreams, check out this amazing Harry Potter Boxed Set! This cool House mash-up collection was found in my endless quest for the perfect set to give James on his birthday. And for your favorite teen Swifties out there, you can gift them the Taylor Swift: And the Clothes She Wears book. That is, if you weren’t able to snag an Eras tour ticket.
Gifts with (Kid) Style
I couldn’t make it through multiple gift guides without mentioning the Christian Louboutin x Marvel shoe collaboration. There is extremely limited sizing still available in the kids shoe options, but check out the full line of adult and kids shoes here. You just might find something you need for yourself!
You’ll find several pajama options below for every kid in the house! Of course there is the classic Petite Plume option I’ve put in the past two blogs. They also comes in blue and white for Hannukah! And these dreamy muslin pjs for boys and girls from Biniduckling that I wish upon a star came in adult sizes.
However, I’ve also included this warm and cozy Lands’ End Kids Fleece Hooded Robe in the gift ideas for kids edition. It comes in multiple color options and has a very affordable price tag! We’ve been getting these for the kids for years at the holidays. I love how you can add monograms to everything at Lands’ End. If you hand things down like we do, personalizing with pictures like a basketball or ballet slippers is usually better than initials. (OMG I just saw that they now have a bookworm with glasses on a pile of books! I must hurry and order something for my little bookworm!)
Gifts to Keep Kids Entertained
Now to get to what the kids really want… toys and other time consuming items to play with. It might not be a “toy” per se, but I love these Soap Rocks for a cool bath gift. (Will bath bombs ever go away?) They’re actual replicas of earth stones and made with clean, natural ingredients. My mother-in-law got me some a few years ago after I died over them at her house. But it occurs to me now, wouldn’t it be a great way to get kids to use soap???
Anyone else’s kid currently obsessed with tape? My kids are certainly entertained by it, so I will likely be purchasing the 3 pack of Colored Masking Tape to have enough for all the cousins this year. It’s not expensive and keeps them busy for hours! I’ve also included on this list the basketball hoop we used to create Max’s custom basketball wall. However, if you would rather something less minimal that makes super cool basketball noises, you can try the NSG Over the Door Basketball Hoop, There’s no better way to let them burn energy in the winter, especially in an apartment!
And finally, my absolute favorite gift for kids (that parents will love too) is the Piggy Bank ATM. Not only is it the most functional piggy bank we ever had, but it allows them to learn the modern way of banking sans overdraw fees. My kids are obsessed with their ATMs and have not stopped using them since they day they received them.
