Golden Globes 2019: Minimalism Is In

Remember when there were about 10 celebrities in Gucci at every red carpet event, each individual dress decked out in rainbows, stars, bows, and sequins? Apparently those days are behind us, as most stars favored minimalism on the Golden Globes red carpet. Despite the lack of crazy fashion, I didn’t feel like anyone played it too safe or too boring. I fell in love with all the Valentino dresses, such as Lady Gaga’s most-talked-about outfit and Gemma Chan’s stunning navy gown.

Our three absolute favorite looks from the 2019 Golden Globes are Emily Blunt’s custom Alexander Mcqueen (although I would have loved it more if she had contrasted the nude look with a red lip), Rosamund Pike’s  killer Givenchy Haute Couture outfit with a sparkly bolero draped on her shoulders, and surprisingly, Olivia Colman’s Stella McCartney chain-mail look. I have to admit I had not previously heard of Olivia Colman, despite her starring role in The Crown. So when her dress so captivated me during the broadcast, it really was just all about the subtle perfection of the look.

Kyle has isolated the fashion trends of the 2019 Golden Globes below. Which is your favorite trend and look? Did you and your partner agree on the fashion at the Globes? For the record, Mr. Real Life Style was obsessed with Lucy Liu’s tulle cape by Galia Lahav.

Enjoy the eye candy!
