Golden Globes 2019: Minimalism Is In

Remember when there were about 10 celebrities in Gucci at every red carpet event, each individual dress decked out in rainbows, stars, bows, and sequins? Apparently those days are behind us, as most stars favored minimalism on the Golden Globes red carpet. Despite the lack of crazy fashion, I didn’t feel like anyone played it too safe or too boring. Golden Globes 2015: Taking a Risk

Bridget Foley of WWD wrote a clever column last week lamenting the staid looks of the red carpet awards season. I could not have agreed more with this assesment as well as her sentiment that one can not blame actresses for  resisting bigger fashion risks, since the fall-out is now not only splashed across the next day’s papers, but will live on the internet forever. A friend texted me at 7:30pm Sunday night, asking if I was going to watch the Golden Globes. My answer? I should. But of course I didn’t. Why bother when Vogue and WWD will deliver …
