And…she’s back! As WWD put it, Kate and Andy Spade are aware of the power of a name. Their namesake brand, Kate Spade New York, was bought by the former Liz Claiborne Inc. for $125 million in 2006. One year later, they both walked away from company. The past few weeks have brought news of three more major brands closing as we know them now: Piperlime, Kate Spade Saturday and Jones New York. Keep reading for all of the gory details. .
