This year’s Oscars will probably go down as the first modern day ceremony without a host. While I’m sorry that Kevin Hart behaved offensively, I was thrilled with the broadcast. Forced to get creative, the producers did just that and it worked beautifully. The Academy upped the star wattage and banter between presenters, which gave the audience more time to check out the fashion! And wear fashion they did. What did you think of the Oscars red carpet this year? I thought that there were some gorgeous gowns on a beautifully diverse group of actresses. Here’s one thing that pleasantly surprised me: the popular exaggerated V neckline is phasing out. Instead, the new trends seem to be the mockneck and the sweetheart neckline. I love it!! My personal best dressed list was designed by Armani Privé: Nicole Kidman’s mandala-bedazzled gown, Emma Robert’s vintage Armani stunner, and Isabelle Huppert’s laidback elegant look. Best part of my abbreviated Oscar’s experience (I missed the red carpet and the first hour and a half for a previous engagement): a male member of my household (who shall remain nameless) commented that the fully exposed cleavage on practically every actress was ok by him. . Am I the only one who stopped dead in their tracks when they saw Cate Blanchett’s black and turquoise look at the Oscars this February?
