Fall Fashion Trends For 2023
This season I have four new wardrobe pieces and one lifestyle item on my list. While taking inventory of my fall wardrobe, and seeing what has been hot in stores the last few weeks, I have updated my always-running fill-in list (the best shopping tool!). The last item is more out of necessity than want, but also something everyone needs, so it made the list. Admittedly, I am having a difficult time deciding which item to choose for each category of the five things I want this fall. Lucky for you, I went ahead and added all the options! Check out my fall picks and let me know what you think in the comments below!

1. A Brown Plaid Blazer
Plaid is classic for a reason, right? The perfect plaid adds the right amount of intrigue and dimension to an ensemble. Therefore, I’m thrilled to see the plaid blazer trend make it’s way back in style this fall. An oversized blazer with a graphic tee is my go-to work outfit. I’m loving the color combination on this Hatley blazer, but I also can’t go wrong with a more toned-down option like the Reformation blazer. Below are the options I’m considering for my plaid blazer purchase.
Hatley Tori Semi Fitted Blazer, $225
Rails Jac Double-Breasted Plaid Blazer, $298
Reformation The Classic Relaxed Blazer, $278
2. A New Pair of Versatile Pants
Having the perfect, comfortable pair of pants is essential in the fall. I’m currently obsessed with the flare leg and wide leg “leggings,” which is basically a modern version of the “yoga pants” we wore in the early 2000s. I’ve narrowed it down to 2 options for my new pair of staple fall pants, making the likelihood high that I may just get both! The Carbon High Waisted Scuba Pant would be a new addition to my wardrobe and I already have the Delancey Straight Cargo Pant in black. However, I’m interested in adding the Aspen Olive color to my closet for fall 2023.
Athleta Delancey Straight Cargo Pant, $129
Carbon High Waisted Scuba Pant, $168
3. Black Clogs for Easy Fall Footwear
Perhaps I was inspired by our Fashionable Fall Comfort Shoes blog last week, because I’m interested in a pair of easy to throw on clogs for dog-walking this season. I have the Birkenstock shearling Boston in maroon from last year, but I want another pair of clogs in black for maximum versatility. Should I stick with what works and get the Birkenstock clogs in another color? The shearling is great in the winter but can get hot in the fall. On the other hand, look how cute and fun that gold buckle is on the Kelsi Dagger mules!
Birkenstock Boston Genuine Shearling Lined Clog, $170
Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn Faze Mule, $150
Dr. Martens Carlson Convertible Slingback Platform Mule, $110
4. A Pair of Silver Shoes
Silver shoes are definitely a trend I’m into this season! My gold Sam Edelman mary-janes from last year are still in heavy rotation, so a new metallic made sense in my wardrobe. I’ve already ordered some silver sneakers and I’m awaiting their arrival. If for whatever reason they do not work for me, I have two other pairs saved to try. Below you’ll find the loafer and mule options I’m considering!
Free People Tallulah Pointed Toe Mule, $148
5. A New Suitcase
Rounding out the 5 things I want this fall is a new suitcase. My suitcase handle recently stopped retracting, so I’ve been browsing for one that is fashionable as well as exceptionally functional for easy travel. I’ve heard great reviews of the Béis Carry-On Roller suitcase. It comes with lots of compartments for organizing and a set of pouches for dirty clothes or shoes. This is essential so I don’t have to worry about mixing my dirty and clean things while on the go. I personally love the olive color, but look at how many other great color options it comes in!
Béis The Carry-On Roller, $218
