I knew Holographic and Iridescent was going to be a thing when, while on vacation in New York City with my kids earlier this summer, I saw a college-age girl in the look head-to-toe. Where exactly was I when, amazed at this fashion statement, I immediately snuck an iPhone picture to text Kyle? The Museum of Natural History, I kid you not. I am not suggesting head-to-toe holographic as a try-this-at-home or museum look, but how about a clutch for a night out, or a fanny pack as something fun to wear to the park with your kids or dog?
Do you think of Opera Gloves as a vintage trend? Not anymore my friends. The future is here: the coat sleeves are short and the gloves are long. If you need a trend to try, I promise this one is the safest. Apologies ahead of time that most of the Opera Gloves we found are insanely priced. It is a little too early in the season for anyone but the highest fashion brands to have much out there that is shoppable. You know, we are always so ahead of the trends here at RLS!
Looking to make a fresh statement with your scarf? Try the Super-Sized scarf! Matching scarves and coats have been a thing for a season or two. The extra-large scarf feels like the indoor evolution of the outdoor trend, although a lot of these definitely feel more suited for the outdoors because they are so bulky. Last season’s bell sleeves elicited a ton of “sleeves in your soup” jokes here at RLS. This fall may be the season of “the scarf in your soup”.
