Have you heard of the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia? This is what I was reminded of when reviewing this week’s trends. Who doesn’t want to touch an all gold, quilted, or satin outfit? All Over Gold
Well OK, you don’t have to wear head-to-toe gold, but move beyond accessories to your main pieces, please. Lani talked her sister-in-law into a gold leather designer trench coat a few years ago. Amy, this is your season! Throw it over all black, perhaps with some gold boots, and date night will be epic. We also love a gold knit, which never goes out of style.

Quilting and Patchwork
Raf Simons, a Belgian, started the Americana movement a few years ago with his ads for Calvin Klein featuring quilts and patchwork when no one else was doing it. He didn’t last long at Calvin Klein but the trend he re-introduced to America stuck. There is a lot of homemade and handmade on the runway and in stores right now. We love that you could buy this trend vintage, designer, or pick it up in a fair trade store like Trade Roots in Arlington, VA or Peruvian Connection, and it would look just as cool.

Satin for Day and Night
Good news, ladies. Satin is no longer just for evening, whether that be cocktail or pajamas. You can now enjoy the feeling of satin against your skin all day. Yes, there are nineties slip dresses out there, which you can layer over a turtleneck for a more modern look; but there are also luxurious matching tops and pants or just wonderful blouses you can wear to work. Your choice. Enjoy!
