Bottega Veneta, Nina Ricci, Tracy Reese
Ahhh, the Seventies…again. This is the trend we highlighted as THE trend of the season in the spring. And here we are again, the Seventies is the trend of the season. The difference? This isn’t just a fashion people thing anymore. We’ve just returned from shopping with clients in New York and I can tell you, this trend is EVERYWHERE. Although we are arguing for grey as the color of the season this week, the second runner up is a rusty, coppery, distinctly-seventies brown. Not your color? The one item you should try is a high-waisted flare jean. This is the most important item on my fall shopping list!
Your legs will be thanking you once you catch a glimpse of yourself in flared jeans with platforms. This combo nips in your waist and makes you look six feet tall. Complete the look with a skinny scarf (the season’s hottest accessory) and a bucket bag.

Michael Kors Miranda Medium Leather Bucket Bag, $695
Chloe Square-Frame Acetate Sunglasses, $375
Gucci Printed Silk-Georgette Scarf, $400
Kenneth Jay Lane Gold Plated Earrings, $50
If the Seventies is your favorite trend, a fringed mini skirt is your dare-to-wear piece of the season. Be sure to keep it age appropriate with black tights and a refined white blouse.
Michael Michael Kors Embroidered Cotton and Silk-Blend Blouse, $195
Falke Pure Matt 50 Denier Tights, $38
Miu Miu Crystal Embellished Suede Ankle Boots, $1,145

Pamela Love Tribal Spike Silver Necklace, $225
While we at RLS would love to see our readers in fringed mini-skirts, their bosses might not. To bring the Seventies into the office, stick with a muted color palette and add a touch of suede. Chocolate brown, burnt orange, deep teal, mustard, and olive, will all bring out the Seventies vibe without upsetting HR.
