The great thing about flat sandals is that they’re incredibly versatile. Find the right finish on a flat sandal, and you can wear them to a dressy summer event without killing your feet. A shoe like the Margaux MX Sandal can be matched with almost any ensemble.
As for open-toe mules, natural sandals are definitely trending this summer. We love the Vaneli Eddery made of cork, the Eileen Fisher Noko Slide sandal, and the Stuart Weitzman Benni 33mm sandal made of natural raffia.

This sandal section is where to look if walking is on the schedule this summer! Shopping this past week at Nordstrom, I stumbled upon the Reef Ojai Two Bar sandals for men. The insanely comfortable footbed had us immediately Googling to see if they were available for women. Good news, they are! While discussing my love for these sandals with our salesperson at Nordstrom, she informed me that some men’s Reef sandals come with a bottle opener on the bottom! I had no idea. Sexist, but cool! If you’re looking for something very supportive with an ankle strap, Kyle informs me that Mary-Kate Olsen has previously been spotted wearing these Teva Voya Infinity Sandals. What can we say? She has good taste!
Thongs and Flip Flops
A classic flip-flop never lets us down in the summer. I’ve been eyeing several OluKai sandals, but I decided to include the OluKai Tiare flip-flop because it’s so simple and well-made. It also comes in a strappy style if you hate the feeling of a strap between your toes.
If you’re looking for something a little dressier, how cute is the Loeffler Randall Hadley Bow Sandal? I wanted to include it in the natural color, but it’s sold out everywhere except in standard shoe sizes. Didn’t I tell you natural shoes are trending? Don’t worry; there are still five other colors to choose from!
Platforms and Wedges
Finally, we have platforms and wedges for us petite ladies! We’ve been trying a lot of Aetrex shoes recently, and they definitely hold true to their claim of being a premium orthotic shoe brand. I love the Tory Open-Toe Heels and will likely buy myself a pair for the summer.
