“Can I do anything with this dress?” is a question I get asked a lot when digging around in the back of clients’ closets. How to restyle a bridesmaid dress for your own purposes is practically an age-old conundrum. The lovely ladies over at Weddington Way, a website that offers a curated selection of top bridesmaid dresses and accessories, are virtually hosting a November Style Challenge in an effort to help all of us figure out what to “do” with past bridesmaid dresses.
RLS has styled two looks for you; the wedding look and the weekend look. I chose ice blue for the dress because that is the color I am suggesting for my stylish sister-in-law’s upcoming wedding. Do any of you remember the light blue and black blog we did? This has been one of my favorite super chic color combinations since I picked up a blue dress with a black belt at Alberta Ferretti a few years ago. At the time the hit of black on blue satin was entirely unexpected. Now it is more of a trend with staying power.
Need a few more reasons to choose a black sash or belt for your bridesmaid dresses? The black accent coordinates beautifully with a black leather jacket and tall boots, taking all formality and fuss out of it. You are left with a look you can rock this weekend or any other.
