Bridget Foley of WWD wrote a clever column last week lamenting the staid looks of the red carpet awards season. I could not have agreed more with this assesment as well as her sentiment that one can not blame actresses for resisting bigger fashion risks, since the fall-out is now not only splashed across the next day’s papers, but will live on the internet forever. A friend texted me at 7:30pm Sunday night, asking if I was going to watch the Golden Globes. My answer? I should. But of course I didn’t. Why bother when Vogue and WWD will deliver the “best-dressed” list to my inbox on Monday?
They did. And to my surprise, I one, did not agree with them, and two, saw some great individuality. Here are some of my favorite, risk-taking looks. No staid screen siren looks here.
PS I am so over black, white and red dresses. Just saying.
