There was a lot of nakedness on the runway this season. This is not really our thing here at RLS but stay with us for a few paragraphs. This spring, designers got in touch with their romantic side by featuring lacy details and sheer fabrics. We first noticed the trend when Vogue highlighted the below picture for spring. The models, shown in order wearing Celine, Burberry, Gucci, Givenchy, Calvin Klein Collection, and Etro, prove that the big name designers truly embraced slinky silk and satin for their spring collections.

However, this is Real Life Style. We’re not sending our clients and readers out into the world in their nightgowns. We believe the key to pulling off this trend is to cover up. Layering and more layering will turn this look from bare and naked to fashion-forward and fun!
When you think of lingerie-styled clothing, you probably picture sexy combinations of black, blush, nude, and ivory. To keep your slip-dress from looking too much like just a slip, choose a bright color, like this coral-pink silk Equipment dress. Cover up by layering a long-sleeve tee under the dress and tossing a biker jacket on top. This is a show-stopping outfit for a summer concert or date.
Equipment Racquel Silk-Charmeuse Maxi Dress, $300
Saloni Rosa Floral-Embroidered Leather Jacket, $795
Wwake Simple Open Triangle Earrings, $235
Kate Spade New York Flag Stripe Silk Square Scarf, $128
Jessica Simpson Basanti Fringe Lace-Up Sandal, $110

Our favorite layer for spring (as we’ve said many times) is the vest. A closed vest over the silk camisole is an appropriate layer for the spring and summer. When you get to your dinner destination, you can unzip and show off your pretty tank.
Vince Draped Crepe Gilet, $425
Uniqlo Carine Silk Lace Camisole, $50
Theory Testra Stretch-Wool Straight-Leg Pants, $265
Alexis Bittar Lucite Drop Earrings, $155
Zac Zac Posen Eartha Soft Top Handle Satchel, $495
Stuart Weitzman Gilligan Pointy Toe Ghillie Flat, $398
